The IRS has announced the new standard mileage rate effective January 2023.

2024 - UPDATE

The IRS has announced the new standard mileage rate beginning January 1, 2024.

The new rates for the use of a car (including vans, pickups or panel trucks) will be:

67 cents per mile for business miles (a 1.5 cent increase from 2023)
21 cents per mile for medical or moving purposes for qualified active-duty members of the Armed Forces, (a decrease of 1 cent from 2023)

14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations

The new rates for the use of a car (including vans, pickups or panel trucks) will be:

65.5 cents per mile for business miles (this represents a 3 cent increase from Jul 1, 2022 and Dec 31, 2022)
22 cents per mile for medical or moving purposes

14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations
